日系人の歴史に対する理解が日本国内で高まりつつある。そこで、日本人と日系人の共通の歴史である、“短農”（短期農業研修生）を通して日系人の歴史理解を深めることを試みたい。研究発表では、帰米二世の三宅明乙（あけみ）氏と群馬県出身の２０人の若者を例に挙げて、日本史と日系史を結ぶ“短農”について再考したい。
