アルゼンチンでは、近代国家建設期において西欧諸国からの移民が奨励された。ところが実際にはイタリア人とスペイン人が大量に流入したため、支配者層を中心に「アルゼンチン人は誰か」という議論が活発となった。発表者は特に、文化ナショナリズムの形成過程とその受容過程を明らかにする研究を行っている。これまでの研究と今後の計画を報告する。
